A few days ago I shared my favorite high-street bags for Fall 2024. Now, I’d like to talk about designer bags. I will provide details about one that I have, the Stella McCartney Falabella bag, after which I’ll point out other designer bags that are on my wishlist for this fall. I love to splurge on designer bags (and shoes). Well, I only have one (it’s an expensive sport) and I’m gonna share how I decided which one was ‘THE ONE’.
My first criterion was that the bag was big. I was enrolling in my MA studies and wanted to treat myself. The bag needed to be big enough to fit all of the school supplies and notebooks (only one haha) but more importantly my laptop. I’m a multimedia student so we use them quite a lot. On my mind was Longchamp’s Le Pliage bag but it gained a lot of popularity at that time so I didn’t want to be ‘the same’ as everybody else. And yes that is my red flag, I hate mainstream things. I searched for my perfect designer bag for quite some time when one day I stumbled upon the Falabella bag — my first love.

The first time I saw it I was maybe 19, fell in love immediately but It was way too expensive for me. After 5 years I have saved up some money so this bag was a fair contender. I can’t express enough how beautiful this bag is to me and stayed beautiful for over 5 years. Besides that, it’s pretty big and quality-made. It isn’t real leather but if I got it correct it’s specifically made imitation leather that’s supposed to last longer than real leather. After reading a few reviews that said the bag looks the same after 8 years while being used daily and frequently, I was pretty set on it. I’m not gonna lie to you, except for the bag size the biggest deciding factor was that it’s pretty and how much it was discounted. This bag’s RRP is 1050€ and I’ve found it on Best Secret for 570€. It’s still a lot but at almost 50% discount. Since I have saved up for it and wanted it for a long time — I bought it!
When I first unboxed it and put it on my shoulders it seemed enormous to me, almost wanted to return it but so glad I didn’t. After a year I can say I wear it quite a lot, it can be dressed up but it can also be worn with casual outfits. I carry everything in it, from work/college stuff to literal groceries, it really holds a lot. I have to say, this bag is very loud and heavy. It’s loud because of the hardware which makes quite some sound but you get used to it. And heaviness? It weighs around 1kg but you also get used to it. Plus, heaviness is always a sign of quality for me, and you can definitely feel it’s very well made. Overall my review is more than positive. I don’t regret buying it, it’s a very versatile and timeless bag.
Other than Stella McCartney’s Fallabela bag here are some bags I would consider buying this fall. Already mentioned Longchamp’s La Pliage bag. I still think it looks nice, it’s very practical and comes in many colors. The price for the M size, which I would go for, is 130€. The next one is Brooklyn Shoulder bag 28 or a bigger one 39 from Coach. In my opinion, this is an ultimate classic and timeless bag, and I’ve heard only good things about it. It’s a bit more expensive than Le Plieage, 350€ for size 28 and 550€ for size 39. The most expensive but most unique is Large Mochi from Yuzefi. The Suede line is my favorite, and colors like Chocolate and Truffle are gorgeous! Price range is from 635€ to 708€.

If you’re considering buying a designer bag you can look these ones up but my biggest advice is to take your time. You will spend a lot of money so make sure to spend it correctly — no impulse buying. P.S. Check our my Pinterest board to see how I style my Stella McCartney Falabella bag!
