With over 22k ratings on IMDB, the show’s score is 6,6 stars. Most of them, 29,2%, are 7 stars. On Rotten Tomatoes, the rating is 6,1 out of 10.
The show features a star-studded cast, including Nicole Kidman as Greer Winbury and Liev Schreiber as her husband, Tag. I would rate this show 7 out of 10. I think it’s very watchable, meaning you want to watch episode after episode. In terms of suspense, the show didn’t keep me on the edge of my seat, but every episode finished with a nice cliffhanger, making me want to watch more and more. In fact, I finished it in one day! I read reviews that said it lacked depth, but I didn’t mind. I love this kind of show — a bit of drama, mystery, and a semi-predictable ending. By “semi-predictable,” I mean that you know the murderer is going to be a person you suspected the least. Plus, the ending is rather nice.
The vibes the show gives off reminded me a lot of two other great shows. The White Lotus, besides having the same vibes, I assume it’s because of the rich people, their complicated relationships, not-so-moral behaviors, dark humor, and a touch of mystery. Also White Lines, mostly because of the murder part, as well as the complicated behaviors, relationships, and drama. I’d score both of these shows higher than The Perfect Couple because they are a bit more complex. For comparison, The White Lotus is an HBO show with an IMDb rating of 8 out of 10. White Lines is also a Netflix show with an IMDb rating of 6.6 out of 10.
Netflix’s The Perfect Couple is a hit for a reason. I think it’s a great quick watch for over the weekend. It will leave you interested and wanting to watch it in one sitting. If you happen to love a mind-blowing and cathartic experience show, I’d say you can skip this one.
