I previously mentioned my love for YSL Loveshine, and if you’ve read about it, you’d know I prefer products that feel light and are easy to apply. Clinique’s Almost Lipstick is exactly that and even better. Plus, what better way to name and describe it than almost lipstick? It colors your lips but feels like a balm!
Overall, I’d give it a 9/10. First, let’s talk about the pros. The formula is amazing and applies smoothly. It feels nourishing and not heavy at all. The color is perfect! The Black Honey shade (the only right one) looks dark at first, but when applied, it’s like magic. It almost adjusts to the color of your lips. This shade complements my face the best – it’s not too red, too pink, or too nude. It’s just perfect! I’ve recommended it to almost all my friends, and it looks great on everyone. Speaking of the color, it’s a perfect everyday shade – not too glamorous, but it adds a little something. The price is neither a pro nor a con. It’s around 40€ in Europe and 25$ in US, which is cheaper than YSL Loveshine. I usually buy mine (already on my third one) from Notino for around 20€. The only con I have to mention is its lasting power. It’s not the best, so it’s not really long-lasting. If you don’t eat or drink with it, you’ll have to reapply it every hour or so. However, I use this product almost daily, and it lasts me at least half a year!
If you’re looking for a go-to everyday colored lip product, this is this one. The great thing is, you can easily wear it for more glamorous occasions – it fits everywhere! If you think this is too pricey for a lip product, I’ll soon write about some dupes I’ve found.
