TikTok’s viral: Avene Cicalfate+ Repairing Cream and Hydrating Emulsion

If you’re on skincare TikTok, you’ve probably seen Avene Cicalfate+ Repairing Protective Cream going viral, due to Haily Bieber. Naturally, I had to try it, and not only because it’s viral. My gel moisturizer was not moisturizing enough in this colder temperature, so this creme found itself on my September wishlist.

I tried it and I’m actually impressed, the hype is real. First off, it’s definitely on the heavier side, so I love using it as part of my nighttime skincare routine. It leaves my skin feeling super hydrated, which is a big win for the upcoming winter months. It claims to be non-comedogenic, although the comedogenic checker shows few ‘bad’ ingredients. One thing I was happy about tho — no breakouts! That’s always a concern when trying something new, but luckily, my skin stayed okay. While it didn’t magically clear all my acne and pimples, it didn’t irritate my skin either. It’s priced at around 12€ for 40ml and 18€ for 100ml (link).

Since I read that this one is on the heavier side I was worried it’s gonna cause a breakout so I’ve also bought the Avene Cicalfate+ Hydrating Skin Repairing Emulsion, which is much lighter. Although it’s labeled non-comedogenic, the comedogenic checker shows less but still some ‘bad’ ingredients. Luckily, this one also didn’t break me out. I use this one as a daily moisturizer, and I really like it! It’s perfect for keeping my skin hydrated during the day without feeling too heavy. This one is priced at around 15€ for 40ml (link).

If you’re looking for a cream to lock in moisture at night or a lighter option for the day, both are worth a try on these colder days!
