As the leaves turn brown, coats come out, and I start feeling sleepier, it can only mean one thing — Halloween is here. Let’s face it, you either love Halloween a lot or a little, and if you have a party to attend, you WILL dress up. Which brings us to the biggest Halloween dilemma: What will you dress as? Well, you can relax, because you just found your Halloween costume guide (me). This week, I’ll put together a few lists of easy (almost DIY) Halloween costumes. The categories for this year are Hot Girl, Cool Girl, and Couple costumes. Let’s start with the first one!
Cowgirl
I’d say it’s the perfect Hot Girl costume. It can be very adaptable according to your preferences. You can choose any color as your base color, but I recommend hot pink. Get yourself a pair of jeans, a crop top, and preferably a tassel jacket. Then add a cowboy hat, boots, belt, and a bandana. That’s it! And if you want to make it even “hotter”, you can wear a skirt instead of jeans.
Dirndl (Oktoberfest) Girl
This one is a little more challenging to put together, but if you have (or order) a dirndl, it will definitely be a unique costume. I noticed that Zalando has a good selection of dirndls, but you can also search for one online. Wear a white lace button-up under the dirndl and add high socks along with a pair of your favorite kitten heels. Braid two French braids and secure them with matching bows. For this costume, beer is of course mandatory.
Belly Dancer
Once again, this costume is a bit more difficult to put together, but it will undoubtedly be a unique choice. Get your hands on a hip scarf (thrift or search online) and wear it on top of a flowy, asymmetrical skirt. The top should be bra-like in the same color as the bottom piece, or even better, a gold embellished one. Accessorize yourself with body chains, dangling earrings, upper arm cuffs, and bangles. Match sandals to the color of your jewelry.
Mythical Goddess
This one is a classic for a reason. It’s super easy, and you probably already have everything you need. Start with your favorite white dress, making sure it’s one-shoulder, off-shoulder, or with a few cutouts. Get plenty of gold jewelry like earrings, bangles, a headband, and a belt. Pair it with gold sandals and even a clutch.
Tennis Player
Another one that is super easy. Find a white polo shirt and pleated skirt in your closet. Borrow a white visor from your grandma, and put on white ruffled socks and white sneakers. Steal an old racquet from your dad. Voilà!
