Winter is the harshest season, and if there’s time to invest in a good shoe, it should be in a pair of boots. A few years ago, I started paying more attention to the materials, longevity, and overall quality of what I buy. I own Dr. Martens, Inuikii, and a few other high-end shoes, and I’m very satisfied with them. I plan to write more about my boot collection in another post.
This year, my mom asked me to help her find a boot that won’t fall apart after two years, so I did some research. When buying boots, the most important factor is probably the sole, and rubber is by far the best choice. For the upper part of the boot, it’s ideal to invest in real leather. The boots I recommend here can often be found on Vinted, Vestiaire, and other second-hand platforms for much cheaper prices, sometimes even never worn. Still, I believe that even if you pay the full price of around €200, it’s worth it, and you’ll purchase will pay off!
Mango
You may have noticed that I didn’t include Mango boots in my high-street boots recommendations. While they do offer some reasonably priced options, if you’re willing to spend a bit more, you can get something much better. They have an amazing selection of 100% cow leather boots with rubber soles. Here are the ones I like!

Dr.Martens or Solovairs
I discovered the brand Solovair on TikTok. Essentially, it’s similar to Dr. Martens, but they claim to offer better quality. I think Dr. Martens makes a good 100% leather boot (I own a pair of Jadons), but they have PVC soles, which is the same as Solovair. Best Secret has some good deals on Dr.Martens if you’re interested. Here are my favorite models.

Frye
I (also )found out about Frye boots through TikTok, and they are all the hype — rightfully so! They claim to be the oldest shoe manufacturer in the U.S., and their models and quality are definitely premium. They have it all, leather and rubber. Frye is a brand you can look for on platforms like Vinted, Vestiaire, and others. I came across a great selection there.
