Winter boots: Riding boots edition

After suggesting high-street and high-quality winter boots, it’s time to talk about riding boots. This year, I’m treating them as a distinct category because I just got my first pair! I never thought I would be interested in riding boots, but this year they’ve caught my attention, and I believe they are growing in popularity.

I stumbled upon a pair from COS while shopping for my mom. They are beautiful, and I’ll leave the details here along with other recommendations. Ultimately, I ended up purchasing a pair of La Botte Gardiane riding boots that I found on Vestiaire. I had never heard of this brand before, but after doing some research, I discovered that they make high-quality shoes from real leather. Plus, they were heavily discounted and brand new, so I took that as a sign to buy them.

Here is a list of several attractive riding boots, starting from least to most expensive.

High-street brands

This Pull&Bear model is, in my opinion, a very basic riding boot. We love a good basic, and it’s priced at €49,99.

Zara has a nice selection of riding boots, so make sure to check it out. I picked these flat boots because I love the silhouette and burgundy color. They are priced at €59,95.

To contine strong, there is also an elevated basic from H&M. It comes in black and brown and it’s 79,99€.

Mango

As you could’ve seen, I was pleasantly surprised by Mango’s selection of genuine leather boots. But when I came across these brown riding boots with an elevated silhouette, I was impressed even more. Although they aren’t made of fully genuine leather (they are composed of 70% cow leather and 30% polyurethane), they do feature a rubber sole. They are priced at 169,99€. If that is a deal breaker for you, the second black model is made of 100% genuine leather and also has a rubber sole. It’s priced at 149,99€. While the black model isn’t as visually appealing to me, it is still very nice.

COS

In my previous post, I mentioned considering COS shoes if you didn’t find anything from my recommendations. COS offers high-quality and stylish shoes, just like their clothing. One of my favorite items is their riding boots, which are made from genuine leather and feature a rubber sole. They are priced at €290, but first orders receive a 10% discount. If I didn’t find my boots on Vestiaire, I would purchase these!

La Botte Gardiane

I got my riding boots from this French brand that specializes in handcrafted shoes made in the south of France. Tanner Leatherstein, a leather expert on TikTok, recently took apart a pair of their boots and was very impressed by the quality (watch TikTok here). He mentioned that the price of the boots is fair for what you get! I love mine, you can really feel and smell the quality of the leather.

This model is priced at 614,59€ (I got mine for 109€ on Vestiaire). However, I would warn you that they are very narrow around the calf — mine barely fits. The boots are also quite stiff, which is expected given the high quality of the leather. One good thing is that leather tends to soften with wear, so I hope they will also stretch out a bit at the top. Nevertheless, I’m very happy with my purchase, and I love my new boots!
