I have a passion for spending my money on two things: bags and sneakers. Sneakers are by far my favorite type of footwear. Despite already owning quite a few pairs, I can’t resist a collaboration between a designer and a classic sneaker brand like Adidas or Nike. The same happened when I saw the Gucci x Adidas line. The thing is, these limited items are hard to get, especially in Croatia, but one day I accidentally saw the Gucci x Adidas sneakers on Best Secret. Do you really think that I’d pass on the opportunity to get them so easily, with free shipping, an option to return them, and a discounted price? No way! I got the most expensive shoes I own, and here is my honest review.

The sneakers combine Gucci’s luxury aesthetic with Adidas’s streetwear vibe, making them the perfect statement piece. Although I’m not the biggest fan of the Gazelle model and prefer Sambas, I find this edition to be quite nice (and the only one I’d buy)! The design is a twist on the classic Gazelle Indoor model but with that unmistakable Gucci mark — the signature branding, bold colors, and premium materials. The quality of these sneakers is superior to your standard Adidas Gazelles. The shoe feels sturdier, and the material is top-notch, like a canvas with a waterproof film. I opted for the Beige GG Monogram colorway, as I believe that if you’re paying a premium for an Adidas shoe, it should at least have a Gucci-themed appearance. This one fits the bill, featuring a recognizable Gucci monogram in beige/brown color, as well as the iconic green and red colors for the details. The brown sole is a must-have for me, as white ones tend to look cheap. The packaging is also high-quality, arriving in a yellow bag-like box with a turquoise satin ribbon and the Gucci x Adidas logo. The shoes are wrapped in patterned tissue paper and each shoe has its own dust bag. In fact, they’re wrapped in two dust bags, one canvas-like and the other a classic yellow branded one. In terms of sizing, you can expect the usual Gazelle Indoor sizes. They run a bit larger compared to Adidas Sambas. In terms of comfort, they are firmer than usual so you have to get used to it. My big toe hurt a lot after the first long wear. The price point is high, as is expected with luxury fashion. You’re paying for better craftsmanship and style, but it’s still a splurge. In this collaboration, some colorways are very similar to classic Adidas Gazelles, so I wouldn’t spend money on those. For example, instead of the Gucci x Adidas Gazelle Pink Velvet, you can get the Adidas Gazelle Indoor in the Bliss Pink/Core Black/Core Purple color and save around 530€. The retail price for Gucci Gazelles is 650€, but I managed to get mine from Best Secret for 425€. I noticed that almost every colorway is still available and discounted through Best Secret.

These shoes are attention-grabbers, whether you’re pairing them with casual jeans or dressing them up with a blazer for a fashion-forward look. You can check out my Pinterest board to see how I’d style them. In conclusion, if you’re a sneakerhead or a fan of both brands, these are definitely collector’s pieces worth saving for!
