Currently, there is one item on my “hardly achievable wishlist”: the New Balance x Miu Miu 530 SL suede sneakers. They are stunning—perhaps some of the prettiest sneakers I’ve ever seen, and I have many of them. If it were possible, I would buy them in a heartbeat, but even if they weren’t out of stock, I don’t feel comfortable spending $1,170.
Essentially, I had given up on getting them, but a week ago, some good news occurred. One of my (new) favorite brands just released a sneaker that closely resembles the New Balance x Miu Miu ones. The brand in question is Alohas, which you might have read about in my October wishlist. I ordered shoes from that wishlist, and a full review is coming soon, but for now, I’ll say I’m very happy with them. Not only does Alohas make great quality shoes, but they are also beautiful and often sustainable.
Their new model, resembling the New Balance x Miu Miu, is called tb.56 Suede. I find them very pretty, especially in the Khaki color. I should mention that they are €200, but you can currently get them on demand for €140. I’m seriously considering purchasing them and swapping out the laces to make them even cooler (like the New Balance x Miu Miu ones). By doing this, I would not only have a stylish pair of shoes for 7.6 times less, but I’d also know I’m wearing a quality product. If you share my love for the New Balance x Miu Miu sneakers, I highly recommend looking into this Alohas model.
